To do
- Bipolar junction transistor: Convert PNG diagrams to SVG format.
- Donald Machholz: update with this discovery.
- Epoch (astronomy) and Equinox (celestial coordinates) have a doubtful distinction: the explanation of them being different seems obsolete.
Done Lagrangian point: listcruft.- Eddy current: find reference for discovery by Léon Foucault in 1851. (Add to both articles when found.)
- Found book source indicating that Foucault "studied carefully" (not necessarily discovered) eddy currents.
- Eddy currents appear to be a special case of Lenz's law, which certainly was understood earlier than Foucault's work.
- Lenz's law: needs rewording and citations.
- Rework confusing wording as mentioned in Ceres talk page.
Done Redirect caesium-133 into caesium. (No opposition after 11 days.)- Copy-edit tritium.
Done List of moments of inertia: verify and add textbook references for as many formulas as I can in.- List of moments of inertia: Remove thin plate formulas, because they are redundant with cuboid (and the diagram has ugly perspective problems). Remove redundant cuboid formulas, leaving only the one that matches the illustration.
Done Add links to equation numbering templates to WP:MATH, as discussed in WP:MATH talk page (and before that, Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (mathematics)).- Gradually building up Positron to contain the depth it deserves.
- Add more references to Dirac sea.
- Equatorial coordinate system: need more citations; going to look in my astronomy books.
- Rework Declination: lots of copyediting needed.
Done Major work needed on Right ascension also.- Reword Orbital eccentricity so that ordinary people can find it useful in the first paragraph: 0 means perfect circle, etc.
- Kepler orbit needs some references.
- Borrow the rotating liquid image from German page Zentrifugalkraft and incorporate it into Centrifugal force. Mention its use in liquid mirror telescopes.
Done Resolve the issue of listcruft in Particle beam.- Look for neutral sources for Tenth Amendment.
- Verify formulas for coordinate transformations on Horizontal coordinate system and provide references for them.
- Verify recent change to Q factor and see if I can provide a source for the formula(s).
- Mass–energy equivalence is confusingly worded and needs more citations.
- Quantum mechanics has a few references to web pages that seem questionable.
- Refractive index: resolve confusion between real and complex n: Re(n)<1 is what it should say (I think). If so, that stuff should be moved into the section on complex-valued index of refraction; otherwise, it keeps confusing people.
- Bandwidth (computing): Too many variant phrases, awkward sentences, and "refers to" repetition.
- Electrical resistance: Uses inconsistent terms for nonlinear resistance in lead section and later in text.
- Litz wire: the big diagram at the top is NOT litz wire! Need accurate diagram.
Disambiguation maintenance
- Bandwidth.
- Conductivity.
- Other terms that need disambiguation.
Finished
- I have written my first ever Wikinews article: US Supreme Court rules DC gun ban unconstitutional
- July 4, 2008 — Completely reworked Explorer 33.
- March 28, 2009 — Created a diagram and reworked mathematical derivations for the conical pendulum article.
