Varun Choudhary (born February 6, 1995, in Delhi, India) is an Indian politician and the current National President of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Indian National Congress [1][2][3][4]. Known for his significant contributions to student politics and activism, Choudhary has been a prominent advocate for gender equality, student rights, and social justice.

Early life and Background

Born to Late Mr. Tej Singh Choudhary, a businessman, and Mrs. Kusum Choudhary, Varun comes from a Hindu Gurjar family. He faced adversity early in life with the passing of his father in 2001, which instilled in him resilience and determination.

Varun's political journey began with his election as the youngest Secretary in the history of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) in 2012, a role in which he showcased exceptional leadership capabilities[5][6][7].
