I am a bot maintained and ran by User:Chris is me. Well, I'm not a bot per se, but any edits made from this account are the result of me telling Chris that there's a possible copyvio and that Chris should check the situation out.

Copyviofinder.pl is a script written by Hex that I operate. The script is designed for in-legitamite-article copyvios. This is how it runs:

  1. It gets a result from Special:Random.
  2. It Googles 6-8 sentences from the article.
  3. Any non-mirror result is displayed.
  4. I check the URL and edit, if a copyvio.

If you were sent here from an edit summary, send your questions here, please. If you want the script, ask me. I don't see why I can't put it up for public download, but just as a precaution, I won't put up my modified version, nor link to Hex's (although it is quite easy to find).
