I've developed four characters called the "Rappin Ratz". What we would like to do is produce a Live Stage Show, Animation TV Show and Recorded Songs using the Rappin' Ratz characters to educate the kids about safety via Hip Hop. The Characters will deliver real message by Rapping. They'll show how much there is to gain from dancing and singing. They'll use "rap Power" instead of "Bad Words" to channel the energy of today's youth in a more positive, productive direction.
Thank You Cooley Jaxson
Cooley Jaxson has added a Three "R" to reading, writing and 'arithmetic: that "R" stands for Rappin' Ratz, his venture into children's education and entertainment.
A South Tahoe resident and father of four, Jaxson started the project five years ago.
"I wanted to be able to give back to our kids and community, and this is one way I can do that. Through my experiences and talent, I want to create awareness in our youth of the values of good morals and safety while having a good time," Jaxson said. " I want to make everyday life a little easier for children."
Jaxson found a great inspiration in "School House Rock" but thought it needed updating.
"I took their idea and updated it to create something for today's youth's musical tastes. The Rappin' Ratz are streetwise, and through dance, song and spoken word, they immediately capture kids attention while communicating important messages."
Jaxson has a long list of accomplishments, including being a Solid Gold Dancer, showing Michael Jackson the Moonwalk and appearing in live stage shows as the white Power Ranger and Grover from "Sesame Street."
Rappin' Ratz - Ronnie, Ruffles, Runt and Rita - teach children through hip-hop music and video, all of which Jaxson created.
"All performances are set to music and have subjects from reading and writing to math and personal safety," said collaborator Phil Newell, founder and president of Bianca Children's Studio. Some of the songs are "Rap about the Presidents," "States" and "A to the B" - especially popular with the kids, Newell said.
Jaxson and Newell are also putting together a Christmas album: "These are Christmas songs with a twist, very danceable with a unique sound," Jaxson said. "We are making a lot of copies to give away at the schools this Christmas. It's our gift back to the community - just call."
The Bianca Children's Studio, a Nevada based nonprofit with major funding from Big George Ventures, sponsors the Rappin Ratz. Those interested in educational entertainment for children should www.rappinratz.com / www.rappinratz.info / www.rappinratz.tv or [email protected].
