Firstly, Commit Media brokered, and continues to facilitate, a new relationship between Environmental Defense Fund and Gibson maker of the worlds leading guitar. The first collaboration took place at this year's Country Music Association Festival in Nashville, where Gibson hosted a booth on Global Warming. Alongside powerful visual depictions of the impacts of climate change, Gibson displayed its unique custom Environmental Defense Fund-themed guitar. Climate experts staffing the booth offered information for visitors on how to save energy and our planet.
Commit Media also worked on Discovering Hetch Hetchy, a film that recreates America's first conservation battle that resulted in the loss of a valley in Yosemite National Park. The film, directed by David Vassar, is the centerpiece of an Environmental Defense Fund campaign to restore HetchHetchy. Commit Media identified and invited Harrison Ford to narrate, and appear in the production. The film and its PSA won a Silver and Gold Medal respectively for Public Service Video at the Summit Awards, "Best Short" at the 2006 Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival and was a finalist in the upcoming Jackson Hole Wildlife Festival awards.
