Comfy ([kʌm.fi]), or Comfy Guy, also known on the Russian Internet as YOBA Face ([ПеКа-фейс]), is an Internet meme known for his blurred, yellow-tinged face wrapped in a comfortable blanket.

It symbolizes the zen-like state in which an anonymous gamer, reader, movie watcher, or casual forum troll immerses themselves in their most comfortable spots.

On gaming image boards within the Russian Internet, where YOBA stands for "Youth Oriented, Bydlo-Approved," this exploitable is utilized as a reaction image. It is typically employed to indicate that the game being discussed is perceived as suitable for "rednecks" or other lower-class individuals.^[1]

Comfy is a character made by repurposing the middle frame of the Trollbait / Nobody Is Right exploitable^[2].

First, the original image of the sneering face was created by DeviantArt user 3-Angled-Blue in 2008, during an internal raid of the 4chan board /b/ by users of the boards /v/ and /trv/. It became quickly popular as this user combined two famous Internet Memes: the famous "Troll Face" with the "Awesome Smiley" (see "References")^[3].

An Internet user then posted the image to DeviantArt, where it has received lots of interest.

This troll face quickly gave way to several variations. The one that became widely adopted is the comfy face with the addition of the blanket, which then resulted in this popular meme.

On 4chan, the original comfy guy image or 'COMY' is typically used in entertainment-oriented boards such as /v/, /co/ and /tv/ to discuss commonly shared experiences of comfortable situations, like perfectly lazing in bed or being under warm blankets on a winter's morning. Whilst "COMFY" threads may be seen as off-topic on any 4chan board, it remains one of the main recurring off-topic threads.

On January 24, 2013, Comfy Guy suddenly appeared on the Moscow prosecutor's office website^[4]. It is unclear whether this was a defacement or a designer's joke. However, the link spread across the internet, resulting in a sudden spike in the site's popularity, and then it went offline. Eventually, around 16:29, PeKa was photoshopped into the first window on the right. And that's how it ended.

Several traders and crypto enthusiasts have recently started using expressions like "comfy in spot" and "so comfy," along with the comfy guy meme, to describe a trade or a position in the markets that they consider comfortable.

In a further iteration, Comfy has seen usage among cryptocurrency enthusiasts as a meme on Twitter and elsewhere such as Solana's ecosystem.
