Colin Roy's theatrical career in London's West End began when he was spotted by Pippa Ailion, currently the casting director of The Lion King, whilst performing in a musical at the Riverside Studios Hammersmith in 1993. Colin’s leading roles in West End theatres include: SoulTrain at the Victoria Palace, directed by Mark Clements; Smokey Joes' Café at the Prince Of Wales Theatre, directed by Jerry Zaks; Sweet Charity at the Victoria Palace for Michael Rose Ltd, choreographed by Chet Walker, directed by Carole Metcalfe. Hair at the Old Vic, directed by Michael Bogdanov, choreographed by Anthony Van Laast; Other theatre credits include: The House That Nat Built, New End Theatre, directed by Mark Clements; Smokey Joes' Café, national tour; Cameron Mackintosh's Five Guys Named Moe, directed by Charles Augins; SoulTrain, national tour; Ain't Misbehavin', directed by Mark Clements and Jenny Sawyer; Cinderella, directed by Kerry Michaels; The Grapevine, directed by Mark Clements and Michael Vivian, choreographed by Stephen Mear; Hot Stuff directed by Paul Kerryson for Bill Kenwright. Colin worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a principle singer in various revue shows, choreographed by Anthony John & Dougie Squires, for Allan Blackburn Production's on board the ship The Song of Norway. Colin's television credits include: EastEnders (BBC), The Paradise Club (BBC), Health And Efficiency (BBC), BPM (ITV), Barclay Theatre Awards (Anglia TV), The Big Stage (Channel 5), The Vanessa Show, The Generation Game, The Learning Zone (BBC2), Night Fever, Get Up And Give (GMTV). Colin is an accomplished singer and songwriter, he wrote the title music for a Channel 4 documentary The Street Warriors. His recordings include the cast album of the Nat King Cole musical The House That Nat Built and the cast album of Hair. Colin's single My Destiny was remixed by 2006 MOBO award winning producers 5AM. It received rave reviews in Blues & Soul Magazine, DJ Magazine and Touch Magazine and was released on the compilation album Soul Sounds of The 90's compiled by Dr. Bob Jones originally from London’s KISS FM Radio. Colin is touring the UK and Europe with a sparkling new production of his own show 'The House That Nat Built', a tribute to his hero Nat King Cole; Being able to switch his vocal stlye to suit many different musical genres, pop, jazz, soul, reggae to name a few is what inspires Colin and his new show SoulTown Xravaganza allows Colin to do just that and combine many different musical styles together.
