GREETINGS fellow travelers.

You are using my favorite place of information (starting place at any rate). Now, some people (on the outside) might freak out about this, but fear not! I am a critical user with degrees in geology and geophysics. My professors always frowned on my Wikipedia usage, but then, they weren't enlightened like us.
I like Wikipedia because if I run across something in a movie, on YouTube, Google Video, hear a song on the radio, find something obscure in the news, etc - chances are it has a page on Wikipedia! I can come here and find someone else's dribble on the subject and then launch on my own from here to all the links and references they include! Isn't it AWESOME! NO OTHER ENCYCLOPEDIA DOES THAT!
They might consider Fred Figglehorn unworthy or Ask a Ninja too below them, but that is what makes Wikipedia different. I strongly believe that as long as you can provide references to third party sources (such as videos on YouTube) and the subject you are adding is easily Google-able(with at least a full page of separate, unconnected websites appearing), it should be allowed - nothing sloppy though! I like well-written articles with good photos, easy references, and lots of links.
If you can't provide more than 3 reasonable references and no good links, then don't post your article - GRRRRR! Feel my contempt for pitiful pages that feel like empty ghost houses - make pages happy with Loving links and references and photos...and quotes...and diagrams...and cute little bunnies. My first page I created at Wikipedia was AFD'd. It is now at one of my user pages where I can work it into something liveable:[1]
I hope you share my enthusiasm for Wikipedia. Happy Editing
