Hi Chackley, Thanks for your interest in my work, and whatever efforts you may be taking in the field to keep our caves accessible. While an avid fan of the underground, I am not a member of any grottos at present and enjoy working with locals to locate/explore caves. Since grottos are the only real source of sanctioned caving information, I started this page to expand/update knowledge about Maryland caves.

It is my understanding that my "unknown cave - McMahon's Mill #2??" (pictured in article) is not actually McMahon's Mill #2 at all; that #2 lies somewhere across the grassy-patch of field northwest of #1. Does the unknown cave pictured have a proper name?

I am a huge conservationist and have been alarmed to find so much trash in my recent caving visits. It's no wonder landowners are warry of visitors. Can you confirm my understanding that Cave #1 (in the sink) is on the NPS land; and that the unknown crevice cave and #2 are on the private land across the trail?

I also have seen footage on You Tube where teens (obviously just west of Howell Cave) enter what they call "The Wormhole"; the footage is cut so it appears that this tunnel runs through and exits up on the hill. While I've seen this hole, I have personally never attempted to navigate through without having first confirmed an exit.

Any information you'd like to provide/add to the page is welcome! Thank you so much!
