The Lost Sherlock Holmes Comic Strip The Sherlock Holmes comic Strip created in 1976 by William Barry (aka Bill Barry) and was syndicated by Editors Press Syndicate out New York city. Based on the stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It was syndicated in the United States by Adventure Feature Syndicate. Editors Press Syndicate was the sole distrubtor to the overseas newspapers. It was Editors Press who made the translations of the strip and then sold it to newspapers worldwide. Support of the comic strip came from Mr. John Bennett Shaw and Mr. Peter Blau. There was a total eighty countries that carried the Sherlock Holmes daily comic strip. Only six US papers carried the daily strip. The srip ran for almost two years but due to production delays by lack of lead time to overseas newspapers. it was finally shut down in 1977. In 1987 the complete run of the comic strip was published in book form for the 100 year Anniverary of Sherlock Homles. by Bill Barry Presents. Published by CB publications. The stories in the publication included "The Hound of The Baskervilles" and "A Study in Scarlet" The entire run of the comic strip(in book form) was sold out thru American Comic book stores and special book shops.
