Harwich Town Brewing Co Harwich Town Brewing Co started life in an old parcels shed in Harwich, Essex, England in May 2007. Created by Paul Mellor a Customs Officer. All beers are named after local themes, notably Leading lights - 3.8% English Copper Bitter - evoking the Leading lights in nearby Dovercourt Misleading Lights - 4.0% Copper bitter based on Leading Lights but stronger and more hoppy Lighthouse Best Bitter - 4.8% Ruby red Best - Named after the nearby stone High Lighthouse Redoubt Stout -4.2% Jet Black silky smooth stout, named after the nearby Redoubt napoleonic-era fort Bathside Battery Bittery - 4.2% golden ale with lots of citrus notes, remembering the nearby naval shore battery in the Bathside area of Harwich
