2024 Energy Solutions

The long-awaited solid-state battery solution was featured in the new products at the 2024 CALB Global Ecosystem Conference. These batteries are for EVs and eVTOL, ESS, E-ship, and E-train, revealing their adaptability across various applications.[1]

New Products, including four batteries for passenger EVs and eVTOL, will be released between 2025 and 2026.[1]

  • Supers BEV Battery: Equipped with a superior 5V LNMO cathode, offering a 400 km range with 5-minute ultra-fast recharging.
  • Super REEV Battery: Planned for 5C fast charging, guaranteeing rapid energy replenishment.
  • Super PHEV Battery: Provides 400 kW of ultra-high-power output for performance above.
  • Super eVTOL Battery: Its 350 Wh/kg energy density maximizes efficiency for electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles.

Transport and Commercial Batteries

Battery systems provide a 600 km range for light trucks and an 800-kWh capacity for heavy trucks.

E-trains and E-ships: Innovated battery solution

Energy Storage Systems (ESS):

  • Gen2 314Ah Battery: with a 15,000-cycle duration.
  • 6.25MWh ESS Container: 392Ah battery cell for enhanced performance.
  • 6.8MWh+ ESS Container: 625+Ah battery, offering better energy space.

All-Solid-State Battery

  • Cutting Edge Energy Density: Releasing a 430 Wh/kg for outstanding performance will be released in 2027.[1]

In the Future:

Global Expansion will increase its market target, supply chain capabilities, and increase productions capacity. Having groundbreaking materials with high level batteries and lifecycle optimization. CALB is planning to expand using a “Dual Driven Force and Energy Storage”. CALB plans to become the top competitor in EV and ESS solutions worldwide to have a future world with sustainable energy.[1]

History

CALB is responsible for selling, producing, developing, researching, and designing batteries used by electric vehicles and for the storage of energy.[2] In a report released in 2023, the company is recorded to have ranked as the 11th among 170 companies responsible with sales reaching 3,821.03M USD, a net income of 41.65M USD, and a 1.09% net profit.[3]

The vision of the company, according to CALB, is to achieve greatness, through cooperation which is suggested to be a win-win dynamic, and the benefit of every individual with the mind of making the world better.[2] Additionally, the company claims to be in pursuit of innovation, and leading technology concerned with new energy as the bid for goals such as “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” continues.[2]Ideally, it is dedicated to sustainability and energy security.

Although the company does perform well when compared to its peers in the served industry, there have been sensitive allegations directed to CALB concerning its operations and industrial integrity as far as their operations are concerned. In 2022, a civil complaint was served to CALB by CATL through the Fujian Provincial High People’s Court with claims of infringement of intellectual property.[4]CATL, claimed that CALB, along with Fuzhou Dynamic Automobile Sales and Services CO., had infringed a “power battery packaging component” patent.[4]

The consequences and demands brought forward by CATL included the need for CALB to stop manufacturing, selling, and storing any products that would otherwise violate the “power battery packaging component” patent along with compensation worth 130M yuan for the products and 500,000 yuan for the expenses incurred throughout the lawsuit by CATL.[4]In retaliation, CALB, through the Hubei and Jiangsu Provincial High People’s Courts also filed a lawsuit against CATL with claims that the latter owed the former 1.007B yuan for damages as of 2024.[4]
