Block 08
Block 08 (Greek: Μπλόκ Οκτώ pronounced Blok Októ) or otherwise known and written as B08 is an area in Eleusis, Greece and home to numerous Greco-Russian and Pontic gangs. Block 08 is located at the outskirts of Eleusis and includes a total of around 10 neighborhoods all considered to be one of the anarchist quarters of West Attica. Block 08 is bordered by Combat Wing AFB 112CW and is close to Aspropyrgos.
History
The latest name of this area is said to originate from young adults and natives that wanted a code name for the place they live in, the reasons are unknown.
Numerous years ago, this area was under water. Due to climate change the water evaporated and left behind fields, rocky hills and Sarantapotamus (a huge river consisting of 40 rivers all connected together, which by the pass of years evaporated as well).
The district was soon full of people, mainly Greco-Russians and Pontic Greeks. Now it still consists of Greco-Russians, Pontic-Greeks but native Greeks as well. Block 08 has been left out, the city's town hall refuses to provide assistance and the criminality rate rises rapidly year by year.
