Bill Truran is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. He moved to New York City in 1975 and learned the photo business by assisting many famous commercial photographers. In 1979 he open his first studio called Bill Truran Studios where he created images for clients like Citibank, Brooklyn Union Gas and Chap Stick. The New York Studio was closed in 1989 when Bill joined Nabisco Inc. Fired by Kraft Foods after they purchased Nabisco, in 2004 Bill opened Bill Truran Productions LLC which is a full service photography studio s'hooting' (Leaf America, Phase One, Nikon, Canon, Fuji Cameras) and retouching (Adobe Photoshop, Leaf Colorshop, Phase One Capture One Pro, Apple Aperture, Adobe Lightroom) digital images. The studio provides all services required to proceed from inspirationally lit images, to color corrected files ready to deliver for print or web. Bill is an author of three books so far: ADD for Fun & Profit OR How we photograph food others will want to purchase, prepare, and enjoy.
