Government Arts And Science College Nadapuram,

Also known as Govt College Nadapuram or Nadapuram Govt College is a government administrated arts and science college affiliated to University of Calicut.

This was college established in 2014.

The college strictly follows the rules and regulations stipulated by the

Government in administrative matters. It follows the same of the University of

Calicut to which it is affiliated in academic matters.

History

The college was established as per G.O. (MS) No. 161/14/H.Edn. dt:

11/04/2014 when the ministry led by the Honourable Chief Minister Mr.

OommenChandy resolved to establish Government Colleges in all legislative

constituencieswithouta aided or government colleges. The college was allotted for

Nadapuram constituency, and the classes commenced on 23rd July 2014. It started

functioning in a private building generously provided by Darul Huda Arabic College

Management near Vayalpeedika in Vanimel Panchayat. Mr. Ashraf

KoyilothanKandiyil was the special officer entrusted with the task of establishing

the college by the Government.

The Kerala state government has shown much liberality in granting five

undergraduate courses for the college from the very beginning. The UG courses

offered are in Physics, Psychology, English, Commerce and Economics and has

approximately 500 students. The students do well in their studies.

COURSES OFFERED

The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut and therefore follows

the curriculum and syllabi of it.

Courses: CUCBCCSS (Calicut University Choice Based Credit cum Semester

system) of the University of Calicut. Each graduate course has six semesters.

1. B.Sc. Physics(core) with mathematics and chemistry as

complementary (24 seats).

2. B.A English Language & Literaturewith British History &world

history as complementary subjects (26 seats).

3. B.comwith computer application (44 seats).

4. B.A Economicswith complementary ‘banking and mathematical tools

for economics’ as complementary subjects (44 seats).

5. B.Sc. Psychology with Human Physiology and Statistics as

complementary subjects (24seats)
