Siddharth (Sid) Yog

Sid Yog is a member of the finance unit at Harvard Business School and has taught courses on Real Property Asset Management and Investing in Emerging Markets. In recognition of his extensive experience of global investing in emerging markets and real estate, Mr. Yog was appointed to the faculty of the Harvard Business School in 2014. As Senior Lecturer, he teaches courses on Real Property Asset Management and Investing in Emerging Markets in the MBA program.


Education

Mr. Yog received an MBA from the Harvard Business School with highest distinction and was elected a George F. Baker Scholar. He was also elected President of his Harvard Business School Class. Earlier he earned an Honours degree in Economics from Delhi University and was elected head of the Students Union of SRCC.

Career

Sid Yog is the Founder and Chairman of The Xander Group Inc., an emerging market focused investment firm headquartered in Singapore. Since founding the firm in 2005, Mr. Yog has been closely involved in the incubation and development of the firm’s various business verticals. Xander Investment Management, the firm’s PERE arm has raised over US$ 2 Billion of institutional capital and acquired and/or developed over 81 Million sq ft across all major real estate asset classes. Mr. Yog chaired the Xander Funds investment committee for over a decade until 2016. Virtuous Retail, an institutional shopping center developer/operator was formed as a fully owned subsidiary in 2007. Mr. Yog is currently Chairman of Virtuous Retail South Asia, its ~ US 750 MM, Singapore based JV with a leading European pension fund, that owns and operates an 8 million square feet portfolio of branded, community focused, new age shopping centres. He is also co-founder in 2010 of Xander Finance, which is one of the largest foreign owned, licensed non-bank finance companies in India, specializing in real estate and corporate loans.

He is also Chairman of Yuj Kutumb, the Yog Family Foundation; in which capacity he oversees Yuj Ventures, an early stage investment platform focused on emerging industries, technologies and managers, across developed and emerging markets. Investments include digital media businesses, prop-tech, new entertainment formats, co living and co working platforms, clean and renewable energy, and disruptive technology backed initiatives in traditional industries, in countries like Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Israel, United States and Hong Kong.

He is a member of the President’s Global Advisory Council and the Committee on University Resources at Harvard University. He is also Co-founder, Trustee and Member of the Governing body of the liberal arts focused Ashoka University in India, Trustee at the A.R.T. - The American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA, and Member of the President’s Global Council at Lincoln Center in New York.
