User:Alpertunga5000/March 2007 Block Statement

The accusation against me that resulted in my block is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Parole

I have been blocked by admin Teke due to an unfair accusation by user Artaxiad (former user:Nareklm), who has used many socks before (such as his banned sock user:Mikara), has been banned indefinitely (by admin Kirill Lakshin) and currently seems to use another suspected sock, user Zurbagan [1], for edit warring on the page Ziya Bunyadov. It looks like admin Teke got confused by a twisted presentation of Artaxiad/Zurbagan, and blocked me for 5 days. Here's are the details that I sent to Teke:

If you check the Ziya Bunyadov page history (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ziya_Bunyadov&action=history) you would notice that the page has been under the attack of several socks, such as Zurbagan (who is listed in the Armenia-Azerbaijan ArbCom) and Pulu-Pughi (who just appeared).

A CheckUser has been filed for those two users: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Armenia-Azerbaijan/Workshop#Motion_for_urgent_checkuser_of_User:Zurbagan_and_User:Pulu-Pughi

My edit of the page was reverted by user Zurbagan: [2]

So all I did was revert it back: [3]

I should have been more careful, but innuindated with constant socks that user Artaxiad creates, I did a full revert.

If you see the diff that my accuser, Artaxiad, provided, you will notice that his sock Zurbagan actually removed verifiable URL references: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ziya_Bunyadov&diff=115743921&oldid=115664756 such as this important quote from the official newspaper of the Soviet Army: [4].

He also removed another reference, [5] which is for the article "Why Sumgait?" that the page mentions. What's interesting, they preserved the information itself, but removed the URL link so that no one would be able to read the article.

Yet, they (Artaxiad and Zurbagan) are not blocked for selectively removing TWO references.

Meanwhile, I removed in my edit their Bournoutian reference: [George A. Bournoutian. "Rewriting History: Recent Azeri Alterations of Primary Sources Dealing with Karabakh" [6]," Journal of the Society for Armenian Studies (1992,1993), Volume 6.], which I noted both in my Edit Summary [7] and in the Talk page three (3) times: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AZiya_Bunyadov&diff=115743743&oldid=114753251

Bournoutian is a POV source and we have an agreement not to use Armenian or Azerbaijani sources to prove the case.

Only one quote, by de Waal, was indeed removed by me, but accidentally, as I was making a full revert of the page which was under the attack of socks such as Zurbagan. Once again, this was a full revert, not a partial one, and hence, I simply overlooked it. Artaxiad placed it back, and I didn't object.

Please check the page again, our respective record, and then please unblock me. I think user Artaxiad twisted the truth and made me look like the one who is disruptive. Also, all my edits are well explained on the Talk page -- I've presented more than anyone there.

I have to also shorten my statement at ArbCom over this weekend, which makes it much harder now that I am blocked, especially for such a long time. Please unblock me in light of this explanation. Thank you.
