Chithra Arun is an Indian playback singer from Kerala who has made her mark in Malayalam film industry. Chithra Arun who is popular for rendering numerous Christian devotional songs, has more than 2500 recorded songs in various Indian languages, including Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. The song "Oru Makaranilavay" from the moview Rani Padmini made her more popular in the Malayalam film industry. She have composed various album songs. She has Performed in more than 500 stages in and outside India along with prominent masters like K J Yesudas, P Jayachandran,S P Balasubrahmanyam, Unni Menon etc. Her song Daivam Thannathallathonnum is very popular among the Christian devotional songs.

Chitra Arun was born on 20^th February to an orthodox family in Mundur, Palakkad. Her talent was recognized at a very early age by her father Bharathan, who was a school teacher in Mundur high school. She started learning music at the age of 4. She completed her schooling from Mundur high school. Chithra passed B.A. in music with first class and 2^nd rank from the University of Kerala, and completed a master's degree in music with 1^st rank.

Chithra Arun was introduced to Malayalam playback by Ram Surender in in the movie [[1]]. But a break was given by Bijibal in the movie Rani Padmini.She has Performed live concerts in more than 500 stages in and outside India along with prominent masters like K J Yesudas, P Jayachandran,S P Balasubrahmanyam, Unni Menon, M Jayachandran, K G Markose, K S Chithra Vani Jairam etc.

Chithra Arun has composed various malayalam album songs. One of her prominent work is the album song Aval written by Dr. Lijo and sung by Bhava Gayakan P Jayachandran. Her Devotional song Daivame Nin was also widely recieved by audience
