Edmund Burke Ball

Edmund Burke Ball (Born 1855, Died 1925) was a American Entrepreneur and philanthropist. He and his four brothers created the Ball_Corporation famous for Ball Jars and later founding Ball_State_University. Edmund Ball was the last of the brothers to marry at the age of forty-eight. Edmund and His wife Bertha C. Ball moved from Ohio to Muncie,_Indiana building their home there, that would later become the E.B. Ball building. The building of the "dream-home" was supervised by Edmund Ball and named "Nebosham". The E.B. Ball Center on Minnetrista Boulevard was finished in 1907 be Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Ball. Edmund and Bertha raised their children in "Nebosham" and upon Mrs. Ball's death in 1957 the house was empty until 1963 when it was rented out by Ball State University. In 1975 the home was donated by the Ball State University foundation as a continuing education facility.
