Taliah Fuimaono (born 11 May 1999) is an Australian rugby league footballer who plays as a five-eighth for the Gold Coast Titans Women.

Background

Born in Penrith, New South Wales, Fuimaono is of Indigenous Australian and Samoan descent. She is the sister of NRL player Tyrell Fuimaono. She played her junior rugby league for the St Clair Comets.

Playing career

Early Career

Fuimaono joined the Mounties for the 2018 NSWRL Women's Premiership, She played 5 games scoring 5 tries.

Fuimaono played in their loss in the final against CRL Newcastle. Fuimaono finished the 2019 season playing 12 games and scoring 4 tries. On 22 June, Fuimaono played five-eighth for Samoa.

In 2021, Fuimaono represented the Indigenous All Stars.[2] Fuimaono played 9 games for Mounties in NSWRL Women's Premiership. On 11 August, Fuimaono signed with the St. George Illawarra Dragons ahead of the 2021 NRLW Season.[3]

2022

Fuimaono made her NRLW debut in round 1 against the Gold Coast Titans.[4] Fuimaono played in the 2021 NRL Women's Premiership Grand Final, losing 16-4 against the Sydney Roosters.[5]

In round 5, Fuimaono scored her first try in the NRLW, losing 30-8 to the Newcastle Knights.[6] Fuimaono was selected for The Jillaroos in the 2021 Women's Rugby League World Cup.[7] Fuimaono scored a try in her debut game against Cook Islands.[8]

2023

In 2023, Fuimaono played 10 games for the Illawarra Steelers, scoring 2 tries. Fuimaono was selected for New South Wales.[9] Fuimaono signed with the Gold Coast Titans for 3 years.[10][11] In round 1 of the NRLW, Fuimaono injured her ankle ruling her out for most of the 2023 season.

2024

Fuimaono played all 3 games as a utility for the New South Wales Blues.[12][13] Fuimaono made her return against the St. George Illawarra Dragons in round 1, after missing most of the 2023 NRL Women's season due to injury.[14] After a high tackle in round 5 against the Sydney Roosters, Fuimaono was suspended for 2 matches.[15] In round 9, Fuimaono scored her first try for the Gold Coast Titans, in their 16-12 loss to the Canberra Raiders.[16] Due to an eye injury suffered in round 9 Fuimaono would miss the upcoming 2024 Rugby League Pacific Championships.[17]
