Template talk:Figure skating program list

New template for detailed result tables

The old layout of program tables for the skater biographies has become obsolete regarding accessibility and other issues. So I developed a new template that satisfies all current criteria of the Wiki Manual of Style and is easy to edit with a short markup code, as tested on the pages of Tara Lipinski and Yuzuru Hanyu (shortlist and detailed list). What is especially attractive about this template is that you no longer have to bother with table and text formatting.

It will be a lot of work to change all existing result tables. However, if we want to promote more skater biographies to featured article class, this change will be required anyways (as we could see in the cases of Hanyu and Lipinski). So I think it's good to have a powerful tool that is easy to use. It also unburdens the articles in size.

If you notice any bugs with the use of this template or have suggestions for additional parameters, please share them here.

Hi Henni147, would it be possible to add a parameter that changes the season links to the pages for the synchronized skating seasons, so that this template can be used for synchronized skating team pages? It would be much appreciated

Henni147, would it be possible to just get an ordinary "by" tag, since a lot of music is a song from one artist, and sometimes that artist also wrote the song as well? Legendofmv (talk) 03:38, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
