Usage
To add an article to WikiProject Song Contests, place the below code on the talk page of the relevant article. Fill in the class and importance parameters if you feel comfortable doing that. If not, the articles will be put into maintenance categories for other editors to review.
{{WikiProject banner shell|class= |1=
{{WikiProject Song Contests|importance= }}
}}
If there are additional relevant WikiProjects, add their template code between the "WikiProject banner shell" line and the last "}}" (typically in alphabetical order).
{{WikiProject banner shell|class= |1=
...
{{WikiProject Song Contests|importance= }}
...
}}
Parameters
- class – valid values are fa, a, ga, b, c, start, stub, fl, list, na (case-insensitive). See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|class=blank or omit the parameter. Please note that class parameters are noted only in the 'WikiProject banner shell' line as the quality rating of the article should be the same for all WikiProjects. - importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|importance=blank or omit the parameter. - future — Add
|future=ywhen the article pertains to an event that is ongoing or upcoming. Remember to check back to remove this once the event has concluded. This parameter adds articles to this category. - listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Elisabeth Andreassen, use
|listas=Andreassen, Elisabethso that the talk page will show up in the A's and not the E's of the various assessment and administrative categories; similarly, for topics with titles beginning with an article such as "the" or "a" - e.g. for A Century of Love, use|listas=Century of Love, Aso that the talk page will show up in the C's). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add|listas=to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required. - category – set
|category=noif, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.
