Template:Current iOS/doc
| This is a documentation subpage for Template:Current iOS. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template gives the current version of iOS, as well as for older versions of iOS (Note: For iPads that are capable of running iPadOS 13 or later, use {{Current iPadOS}}). Without a parameter, this template works with articles about iPhones that are compatible the current version of iOS (in this case iOS 26.5). If an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch no longer supports the latest iOS (such as the iPhone XR with iOS 18.7.9), add a parameter for the version of iOS that the device is stuck on (such as {{Current iOS|18}}).
To update the actual values when a new update is released, please go to {{Current iOS/data}}.
You can check device compatibility on Apple's security release website.

Updating this template
Minor updates
In most cases, you don't need to update this template. Updating {{Current iOS/data}} will usually automatically transclude the values.
Major updates
When a new major version of iOS is announced (most likely every June at WWDC), and if any models are stuck on the current release, create a new #switch tree here and at {{Current iOS/data}} for the current version, and apply that new parameter to all relevant articles before updating this template for the newer release. For example, in 2026, iOS 26 will be replaced by iOS 27, and a new tree may be needed for iOS 26 only if any models are dropped.
