Template:AINB article
This template is a companion to {{AINB status}} and is used to track the cleanup status of individual articles affected by AI/LLM use. Each time it is called it will display a single article with a colored status pill, the article title (linked), and optional attribution and notes.
It is designed to be used as a list directly beneath the main {{AINB status}} banner on open cases at Wikipedia:WikiProject AI Cleanup/Noticeboard, so that readers/cleaners can see at a glance which articles have been cleaned, which still need work, and the current status/action taken.
Usage
{{AINB article
| status = <!-- required; see values below -->
| article = <!-- required; article title without [[ ]] -->
| user = <!-- optional; editor addressing the issues in this article -->
| notes = <!-- optional; brief comment with context, link to AfD, etc. -->
}}
Example
A typical use after a {{AINB status}} banner:
{{AINB status |status=siteblock |user=ExampleEditor26 |date=29 April 2026}}
;Articles requiring cleanup
{{AINB article |status=needsreview |article=Example article one |notes=heavy LLM use}}
{{AINB article |status=inprogress |article=Example article two |user=ExampleReviewer62}}
{{AINB article |status=clean |article=Example article three}}
{{AINB article |status=g15 |article=Example article four}}
{{AINB article |status=deleted |article=Example article five}}
Parameters
| Parameter | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| status | Yes | The current cleanup status of the article. See status values below. |
| article | Yes | The article title. Do not include [[ ]] brackets the template adds them automatically. For drafts you will need to include the Draft: prefix.
|
| user | No | A username with the person who is handling cleanup of this particular article. Useful when several editors are dividing up a batch or articles. |
| notes | No | A brief note providing context for example, a link to an AfD discussion, a relevant diff, etc. This should be short, longer taking points should be in the discussion below this. |
Status values
| Status | Meaning | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| needsreview | Article identified, no cleanup yet | An article has been identified as containing AI/LLM content but has not yet been reviewed by anyone. This is the appropriate starting status when first listing an editor's contributions. |
| inprogress | Cleanup is underway | An editor is actively reviewing or cleaning the article. This includes reviewing sources, removing unverified content, or rewriting AI-generated prose. The article has been partially cleaned but still requires further work. Use the user= parameter so otherss know who's working on it and can avoid stepping on each others toes. |
| clean | Cleanup complete | This article has been reviewed, content has been removed or rewritten. All AI-generated content has been verified, rewritten, or removed; sources have been checked. The article has been retained in mainspace. |
| draftified | Moved to draftspace | The article has been moved from mainspace to draftspace pending further review. Use when an editor has draftified the article because it requires additional work before returning to mainspace. Include the Draft: prefix in the article name. |
| stubified | Reduced to a verified stub | An editor has stripped the article down to only its verifiable content, leaving a stub that can be expanded later. This outcome happens when most of the AI-generated content fails verification but the topic itself is notable. |
| g15 | Eligible for WP:G15 speedy deletion | The article meets the criteria for speedy deletion under WP:G15 (unreviewed LLM-generated content) but has not yet been deleted. |
| llmprod | Tagged for presumptive removal | The article has been tagged for presumptive removal of AI-generated content. |
| afd | Nominated for Articles for Deletion | The article has been sent to AfD for deletion or modification. Include a link to the AfD discussion in notes=. |
| deleted | Article deleted | The article has been deleted via G15, AfD, PROD, or another deletion process. This is used as an update to others know what has happened. |
| kept | Survived deletion process and cleanup | The article was nominated for deletion (AfD, G15, PROD) but the community decided to keep it, after which it was cleaned. Distinct from clean in that it indicates the article went through a formal deletion review and came out the other side. |
| restored | Moved from draftspace back to mainspace | An article that was previously draftified has been cleaned up and returned to mainspace. The natural endpoint for a successful draftified case. |
Article status workflow
Most articles will follow one of these a path that looks something like this.
- Quick clean:
needsreview→inprogress→clean - Pure slop:
needsreview→g15→deleted - Borderline notability:
needsreview→afd→deleted(orkept)
