Talk:Wii Optical Disc
Format
This is a plain DVD. It is not a new format. The Wii needs a seperate dongle to play DVD movies, the games are still stored on DVDs. This is the same thing that happened with the Xbox. The xbox games are stored on DVDs, but the Xbox can NOT play DVD movies. Unless you buy a "dongle".[1] Wii is the same, games are stored on DVDs, the system uses a DVD drive. But you can't play DVD movies on it without the add-on.
