Talk:Warp core

This is possibly the worst, most misinformed interpretation of relativity I've read, in both the History and Mechanics section. But I'm not trekkie enough to qualify re-writing this. Someone should, and preferably somone with basic knowledge of what relativity actually is.

Spelling question

Is it "warp core" or "warpcore"? --Fang Aili 說嗎? 16:14, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going with what Memory Alpha says: "warp core". --Fang Aili 說嗎? 16:37, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warp 5 in Enterprise

I'm going with 125c, which is what the TOS scale is on. Not sure if this is correct or not. Not an Enterprise buff. That's what makes the most sense to me, though. —BorgHunter ubx (talk) 19:41, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warp Speed Scales

The speed scales were changed bettween TOS and TNG, thus comparisons cannot be directly made. Also, Post TNG speeds above warp 10 are likly to be either based on a revised scale (likly due to the Sub Space effects mentioned in TNG: "Force of Nature")

(Writing this to explain what I am doing, and so I can gather my thoughts)

Under the original Cochrane Scale, ( ) Warp Factor 14.1 was the highest speed recorded.

Under the Revised Cochrane scale, Warp 10 is set at infinity, warp 1 is set at c, and speeds in between are scaled by power usage and equivalent speed.

I will edit the article later...
