WHT (disambiguation)WHTWHT currently redirects to William Herschel Telescope; I believe this TLA is too ambiguous to have a single target. bd2412 T 18:04, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WHT in reference to white-coat hypertension

There are several clinical studies that use WHT in reference to white-coat hypertension. [1][2][3][4][5] These are just the ones I found with literally a minute of searching. Remember that some Wikipedia articles are not all-encompassing and should not be treated as such. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lymoz (talkcontribs) 12:06, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Lymoz: The issue is that White coat hypertension does not mention this usage and fails WP:DABMENTION. Disambiguation pages are not an acronym glossary -- they are navigational aides to help users find existing content for the ambiguous usage. olderwiser 12:28, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I now added the acronym to white coat hypertension, since it is a commonly used acronym in clinical studies. Lymoz (talk) 12:30, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Lymoz: Thanks Lymoz. But can you provide expansion for the acronym as it is not at all obvious why white coat hypertension would be abbreviated as WHT (as opposed to the more obvious WCT). olderwiser 12:37, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but I don't think I understand what you mean by "providing expansion for the acronym". Anyhow, the reason as to why white-coat hypertension is abbreviated WHT is because hypertension in itself is sometimes abbreviated HT, and then the added W only stands for "white-coat". Less commonly it is also called WCHT. Lymoz (talk) 12:45, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
