Proposal to add new information on T6SS and metal acquisition

Hi everyone,

I would like to propose an addition to the existing article on the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS). Recent research has revealed that T6SS plays a role not only in bacterial antagonism but also in the acquisition of essential metals, such as manganese and iron, from the surrounding environment. This ability allows bacteria to outcompete rivals for these nutrients while maintaining cooperation with related bacterial cells. I believe this addition could enhance the article by providing a more comprehensive view of the ecological significance of T6SS.

I would say it's a worthwhile addition - but remove 'recently' (MOS:RELTIME).--Iztwoz (talk) 19:10, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
