A fact from Southern Wall appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 26 September 2010. The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount still contains the steps that Jesus "must have walked" on? The article confuses two entirely different subjects. One is the southern wall of the Temple Mount, which appears in the photos and is described in the first two paragraphs of the article body. The other is the recently-discovered Hasmonean wall on Mount Zion, which appears in the lead and the last section. Two different walls, two different places, one has been known for ever, the other recently discovered. References to the Hasmonean wall should be removed and the article dedicated to the southern wall of the Temple Mount. In fact, this article should be renamed Davidson Archaeological Park and cover the park that currently occupies the feet of the southern wall. Lot's of room for expansion here, including the numerous archaeological fins and structures that litter the park, with mention of the Huldah Gates, Robinson's Arch, Acra (fortress), the Crusader stronghold, Ummayad palaces, Byzantine households ans so on. "The Southern Wall ... is a wall at the southern end of the Temple Mount and the former southern side of the Second Temple (also called Herod's Temple) in Jerusalem." — I question the second part. Since the position of the temple on top of the mount is conjectural, the most that can be said is that the southern wall is the retaining wall of the mount.
