Talk:SS Royal Standard

I think I found a photo of her.

While researching to find any possible photos of this ship, I stumbled across this photo that COULD possibly be the SS Royal Standard, albiet in her later years when she was stripped off her steam engines and converted to be exclusively a sailing ship, hence why she doesnt have a funnel. It seems to be a collection of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London, and in my opinion, the idea that this COULD be the SS Royal Standard we're talking about is highly likely. The description of the photograph states that this Royal Standard was built in 1863, and that the photograph was taken sometime in 1867-1869, when she became a sailing vessel and was stripped of her funnel. If this can be proved to be the SS Royal Standard, then it could be featured in the article, only when permission is granted from the collectors, of course.

Yes it sounds very much like it could be her. What a find! Unfortunately, I believe that the licence is incompatible with wikipedia, so I'm not sure it could be used. But maybe it could be linked to from the article. G-13114 (talk) 19:34, 23 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
