Etymology
I can't see anything in the article about the etymology of the word "Chanology". Is it derived from 4chan/711chan? If so (or even if not), surely there's a reliable source somewhere that can be found for it? Not knowing where the name came from is a serious limitation of the article. 2001:BB6:4713:4858:D58E:EA80:4B3D:5445 (talk) 13:19, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- I found it out by myself. 2001:BB6:4713:4858:D58E:EA80:4B3D:5445 (talk) 18:32, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Please create an "Etymology" section at the top of the article, and add:
- "The word "Chanology" is a portmanteau of 4chan (the site where the project originated) and "Scientology."[1][2]

Please also add '"Chanology" is a portmanteau of "chan" and "Scientology"' as the second sentence of the lead. 2001:BB6:4713:4858:D58E:EA80:4B3D:5445 (talk) 18:32, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

"civil conflict" template
I think it is inappropriate to use the civil conflict template for this page, which wrongly casts this situation as a literal battle. The claim of a "4Chan victory" also needs sourcing. Pipoin (talk) 02:11, 9 May 2025 (UTC)
