In the table, what is the point of the 'Result' column? Is there ever going to be an entry which is other than 'Honoured'? Masato.harada (talk) 18:30, 15 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Removed. – zmbro (talk) (cont) 20:35, 1 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The album The Boys of Dungeon Lane was launched together with the custom Google Street View imagery captured on Dungeon Lane. Makronka001 (talk) 10:06, 30 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Day Creature (talk) 15:14, 30 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Lead photo

DBSonic12 Please stop changing the lead photo. As long as he's alive, a recent photo will be used. That's generally how Wiki operates. Upon his death, the photo can be changed to an older one. Also, it's against Wiki policy to use a non-free image when plenty of free ones are available. Thanks. – zmbro (talk) (cont) 20:29, 7 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed with @Zmbro on the part where a current photo is better. Don’t agree with the other part about adding an older picture after he eventually passes away and especially not the one @dbsonic12 is pitching. Infobox pictures should be clear, high quality and preferably with only the person, and them looking into the camera. ContextCreator (talk) 23:11, 7 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Editors usually disagree on that. Many believe the lead image should be the subject at their most recognizable, or in their "prime". For McCartney, I'd argue that would be his post-Beatles period (during Wings). – zmbro (talk) (cont) 03:17, 8 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
a picture is a picture and a photo of McCartney is a photo of McCartney so it doesn't matter and no-one asked 4 ur opinion DBSonic12 (talk) 07:35, 8 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That’s not how we talk to eachother around here. Being polite doesn’t cost a thing. ContextCreator (talk) 23:18, 8 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Ian Iachimoe

Ian Iachimoe is a pseudonym Paul McCartney used in 1966. It’s supposedly meant to be “Paul McCartney” phonetically backwards. Paul wrote “Yours sincerely, Ian Iachimoe” under the handwritten lyrics of “Paperback Writer“. So I think it should be one his aliases. Neoogai (talk) 16:00, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. I don't think that it was used enough during his career, nor that there was enough traction around it to include it as one of his aliases. ContextCreator (talk) 23:39, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
An indica art gallery Advertisement read: Ian Iachimoe, the Polish “new wave” film director, is offering a prize of 20 guineas to anyone who can supply the missing link in the following script. The dialogue is not needed, just the idea. Here is the outline of the story:
A woman (age 35-45) is fanatical about cleanliness. She is amazingly houseproud and obsessional about getting rid of dirt. This carries over in her dress, looks, and so on.
Something happens to make her have to crawl through a great load of dirt, old dustbins and so on. Good old honest dirt. WHAT IS THIS SOMETHING?
The story continues with the woman’s mind being snapped by her experiences with dirt. She goes mad and her obsession gets even worse.
WHAT IS NEEDED is the idea. What could have caused her to become involved with filth. (She is not forced to do it, but chooses to do it herself.)

THIS COMPETITION IS FOR REAL – it seems strange but is real. Also, From International Times #11 – “Emergencies: Ian Iachimoe”, In March 1966, Paul McCartney’s friend Barry Miles, and John Hopkins, launched an underground magazine called “The Long Hair Times”. Under the pseudonym Ian Iachimoe, Paul announced a competition to complete a film script, with a prize of twenty guineas for the winner. Neoogai (talk) 01:32, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Change 'Jackson' (Ambigious) to 'Michael Jackson' (I have to presume?) Saaaaur (talk) 01:39, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Michael Jackson's full name is already stated in the lead once so it complies with MOS:SURNAME. Qwerty123M (talk) 01:50, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thats fair, just thought it was worth noting even if it was likely fine, thanks for your time. Saaaaur (talk) 01:54, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Please change Paul to a Piano player not a “Keyboardist” and instruments in his bio as piano not keyboard ~2026-32456-37 (talk) 11:03, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done I think you'll find that a piano is indeed a keyboard instrument. I'd agree that he's mostly associated with piano, but the article makes it clear that he has also played synthesizers. He notably played Mellotron on "Strawberry Fields Forever", although this is not mentioned in the article. Here he is demonstrating the instrument: [1] Martinevans123 (talk) 11:07, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
