Production Linked Incentive

Production Linked Incentive or PLI is a transforming scheme and one of its type constituted by government of india's ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) in april 2020, Initially it was only meant for large scale production of electronics manufacturing in India but was later extended to several sectors including automobile, pharmaceutical, battery storage, food processing and speciality steel. Under this scheme goverment aims to bring reforms in the manufacturing sector of india by reducing the dependence on import and increasing and marketing domestic production of various goods. It has very simple framework which concludes that any company enrolled with the scheme will get 4 to 6% incentive on incremental sales, not only that but any company registered under it will get incentive for plant, machinery, R&D, Transform of Technology. It is considered as a landmark reform in industrial sector by government and which is supported by many experts and economists. Giant corporations like Samsung, Of which Foxconn, Hon Hai, Wistron, Pegatron who are Apple's manufacturers has shown interest in the scheme. Many indian companies like Micromax, Padget, Optimism have already enrolled in the scheme. Almost 132 Pharma companies have also given expression of interest in enrolling the scheme.
