New Line 3 Logo and Colour

It would be great to add a source for the new Line 3 logo and colour, as well as having a short section for the line's branding.

Let me summon Nfitz and Joeyconnick because I would like to know what both of you think. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 16:47, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect that the source mentioned in Template talk:Rail-interchange#Template-protected edit request on 11 November 2023 is using it as a placeholder at best. I recommend waiting until Metrolinx unveils it to the non-technical public, such as on X (formerly known as Twitter) and Metrolinx's website (not hidden inside a PDF). Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 15:21, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree because it's really hard to find that icon as it hides inside a very large document (althrough shown many times but it's too small compared to the pages' scale). After all, this document is still under discussion so it may be inappropriate to use such controversial document as a source.--—and in that light, Fz20181223 find deliverance.— 23:11, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the source does not look definitive, and it's best to stick with just using "Line 3" until closer to the time / confirmation that the line will be colour x, y or z on a transit map. (Also, it seems unlikely to me that Metrolinx would actually choose a colour very similar to the Sheppard colour... but transit agencies have done silly branding things before, and they'll do it again!) Turini2 (talk) 21:04, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be included as it has been in multiple future TTC network maps as it was in the now deprecated ref 20.
I cannot find the same map in a quick glance, but here it is on another site cited from the TTC (which I believe satisfies @Joeyconnick's requirement that it be known by the public: https://dailyhive.com/toronto/toronto-subway-maps-2023-2031 Millsy0303 (talk) 18:54, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah no... that one is in the original Line 3 blue. The only reference to the 3 roundel in purple is buried deep as a placeholder in technical documents. —Joeyconnick (talk) 18:55, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's fair to say that the Ontario Line has been provisionally referred to as Line 3 however it's inappropriate to use any icon at this time. BLAIXX 21:28, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Did you look at what I linked? Millsy0303 (talk) 00:24, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Many of us did. Even then, we should not use the icon. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 00:14, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The new number and icon should still not be added yet. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 01:08, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Construction concerns or in station paragraphs?

I added the paragraph about the damage to homes in the Construction concerns section. I see there are similar things attached to the station paragraphs - about the trees at Osgoode and Moss Park. I'm not sure, but I think those are better located in Construction concerns section. What do y'all think? Alaney2k (talk) 13:35, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. However, I would personally wait for more replies to form a consensus first. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 16:37, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Should all be in one place tbh. Turini2 (talk) 10:00, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That would be better. However, I would still personally wait for more replies to form a consensus first. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 00:15, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Photo in infobox

Hey - many major construction projects have a photo in the infobox to illustrate the ongoing project - any thoughts on which one we should use? Turini2 (talk) 09:28, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Construction at Exhibition station, April 2025
Out of the ones currently in the article, this one seems the best. BLAIXX 00:00, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. If there are better photos, we will use those instead. For now, this photo would be the best in my opinion. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 00:35, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done: Turini2 added the photo to the infobox. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 15:57, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New Station Names

Just posting this here for reference, as some new station names have quietly been released. First saw it on Reddit, but I found a link from the Metrolinx website - Web Archive link, looks like they took it down; https://web.archive.org/web/20260414204631if_/https://assets.metrolinx.com/image/upload/v1776184751/Images/Metrolinx/2026-03-23_-_OL_Website_Map_-_English.png. Maybe we should wait for the names to update elsewhere before changing in article? PascalHD (talk) 02:31, 15 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a secondary source for this is going to be important. Turini2 (talk) 07:34, 15 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The same image was used in today's CP24 article, with source being "handout". I'm guessing metrolinx released it to press. https://www.cp24.com/local/toronto/2026/04/16/tunnelling-begins-on-downtown-stretch-of-torontos-new-subway-line/ Isaacberman (talk) 15:16, 16 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I would approve of adding the new station names to the article, but I would wait for others to reply first. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 15:19, 16 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the press release: https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1007302/province-begins-tunnelling-ontario-line Isaacberman (talk) 15:20, 16 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, this press release clearly mentions the new station names. I’d support a change. PascalHD (talk) 16:09, 16 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Wondering how "King West" is a name when it contravenes their very clear approach of not naming stations using elements of an existing station name. Seems very weird! —Joeyconnick (talk) 03:31, 17 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Metrolinx works in mysterious ways. However, we just add what is reliably sourced. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 14:59, 16 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Done but not by me. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 00:17, 17 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
