Missing picture
Should there be a picture with this article? The last sentence sounds as if one was originally attached... User:Kayobee 7th October 2006
- The author is effectively leaving a placeholder for such a picture of the Trebizond omphalos, if you have one. Another useful point to make is that an omphalos is often phallic.
- It would also be useful to add details of the date the Greek omphalos was transfered from Delphi, shortly after Constantine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.29.93.129 (talk) 23:47, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
Non-omphalos Coronation
The question whether the Westminster Abbey Cosmati Pavement has omphalic import is interesting, as it is apocalyptic rather than nascentory, the Omega to an Omphalic Alpha. Indeed, Lodon also has a distinct stone, the London Stone, often thought to be its original Omphalos, although it has been moved several times. Equally, a location in St Paul's Churchyard is often claimed to be that site. I have therefore added it as a footnote, rather than an integral part of the meme, because its design and use is evidently very similar to that of the Hagia Sophia. If anyone more knowledgable wishes to promote it, pray do so. It would also be interesting to search the Vatican for a similar pavement for the coronation of Popes, and possibly Aachen, for the Holy Roman Empire. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.29.93.129 (talk) 23:33, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
Heliocentrism?
Why would the Omphalos represent the solar system orbiting the sun? Patallurgist (talk) 22:01, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
