The article states that a NDK is for code that doesn't run in a "virtual machine", but the only example of a NDK (that I know) is the Android NDK ... and when reading the official information:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/ndk/overview.html
... you can see that Android executes the NDK-binaries in it's "Dalvik virtual machine" ... so the text of the article makes no sense:
- Are there any NDKs beside the one from Android? (if not the article could be focused on that one)
- The statement about "virtual machines" seems to be wrong (when seeing Android NDK)

Is this a thing?
It's exactly what it says on the tin, a kit for developing native applications. Is there a point to having an article for this? Do any other companies have "native development kits" or is it just Google branding? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.159.186.121 (talk) 19:50, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
