Talk:Native development kit

The article states that a NDK is for code that doesn't run in a "virtual machine", but the only example of a NDK (that I know) is the Android NDK ... and when reading the official information:

http://developer.android.com/sdk/ndk/overview.html

... you can see that Android executes the NDK-binaries in it's "Dalvik virtual machine" ... so the text of the article makes no sense:

  1. Are there any NDKs beside the one from Android? (if not the article could be focused on that one)
  2. The statement about "virtual machines" seems to be wrong (when seeing Android NDK)

Is this a thing?

It's exactly what it says on the tin, a kit for developing native applications. Is there a point to having an article for this?
