Talk:NEC SX

inconsistency?

Some things here -- especially in the table titled "Multi-node SX systems" -- seem to be inconsistent with the current content of the article at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Simulator>. In particular, the other article states that the original ES was based on SX-6 and had 640 nodes, whereas the table "here" states a maximum of 128 nodes for SX-6. Similarly, the ES article states 5120 nodes (apparently *not* a typo, i.e. an extra zero at the end) for the (SX-ACE)-based ES3, but the table "here" states a max. of 512 nodes per SX-ACE supercomputer.

Dates

It'd be great to have the introduction dates of the different models -- an encyclopedia is supposed to be a reference book. Jec (talk) 22:02, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

from deleted sx-3 article: The SX-3 supercomputer family was developed by NEC Corporation in Japan and announced in April 1989.[1] The SX-3/44R became the fastest supercomputer in the world in 1990. It is based on the NEC SX architecture. 1^ Computing methods in applied sciences and engineering by R. Glowinski, A. Lichnewsky ISBN 0-89871-264-5 page 353-360

SX-ACE

This article needs to be updated to reflect the newly announced SX-ACE (formerly known as SX-10.) I can do some of the updating once I get back from SC13. 75.70.53.216 (talk) 03:09, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
