Talk:MSN Virtual Earth
Renaming and forking
Renaming article to MSN Virtual Earth is necessary or a separate article to reflect the difference between MSN Web-based feature and Microsoft Windows client software. -- 01:14, July 26, 2005 Djkinsella
- Do whatever that is required to better reflect the fact. By the way, where is the client software? I can't wait to try it. -- Toytoy 01:43, July 26, 2005 (UTC)
- I've updated the main page to "online service" instead of "Windows software". What indication do you have that there will be a client-based version of Virtual Earth? --J. J. 18:17, 2005 August 24 (UTC)
- Sorry, misinformation, I guess. -- Toytoy 12:18, August 26, 2005 (UTC)
- It seems to be renamed again: Windows Live Local (powered by Virtual Earth) Beta. It also now links to http://local.live.com/ --82.176.160.13 10:33, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Digital Biosphere
Apart from the ones you talk, there is also my project at www.digitalbiosphere.com (should be a .org in fact). It is really metaverse oriented, in Java3D. Yet it is not finished/working, but interesting to give people/developers ideas about what a Metaverse should be: that is a VirtualEarth stored as an Object database. Also look at Metaverse article. I must also tell that I am not provider of data maps but rather expect to use the ones from NASA (SRTM30plus, SRTM90). Yet I don't dare writting articles about my own projects, this sounds nasty to me. Ok well, not that nasty but yet a bit. Let me know at [email protected] if I should or if you want more info.
