It would be nice to know how often LCP messages are sent as my ADSL router seems to send them based on how much bandwidth is being used, no data = no LCP, but when my 4MB/s line is at full whack there seems to be about 300 LCP messages an hour. When there is less traffic there are less LCP messages. It would be usefull if someone that knows the answer to how frequently LCP messages are sent could add that info.

Link control protocolLink Control Protocol – misapplication of WP:LOWERCASE a couple of years back; this page is about a specific protocol, not the generic concept. It's always spelled capitalized in sources when referring to LCP.
