I'm interested in making some fairly extensive revisions to this page. I know the page has recently been active with multiple editors, so I wanted to make sure it was OK to move ahead. If you're planning to make some revisions yourself, or if this page is for a graded school assignment, please let me know so that I can avoid stepping on toes.--Libraryowl (talk) 23:11, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
I haven't heard from anyone, so I rewrote the first section of the article. I feel like this article still needs some revisions and reorganization overall. I am a supporter of learning commons (well, I'm certainly interested in them), but I'm concerned that the language in this article is too promotional & bit scattered. For example, there are some pretty important challenges to learning commons, including the cost; the removal of print collections; and the removal or reduction of professional librarian positions when a library makes a transition into a learning commons. I am still learning too, but if you want, we can work together to make this article more neutral and encyclopedic. --Libraryowl (talk) 15:13, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Requested copy edit completed
@Libraryowl and any other editors who may be currently interested, although there's been no activity here on the article's Talk page for 13(!) years, I'd like to mention that I've just completed the requested copy edit of the article that was made back in 2024 to the Guild of Copy Editors.
I tightened up the article considerably, sometimes with slight rewording and other times with repositioning of text and even sections for better flow and clarity. You may want to compare it against the last version of the article prior to when I began copy editing on the 4th of March for a fuller picture of what I did. Because requested copy edits don't entail going over the citations and references, I would suggest that this be done ... as well as probably updating the article overall, because there must have been many developments in the spread of learning commons since the article was last worked on for content.
I'll be happy to engage in discussion about anything else I did with the article, and why, if you ask here on this page.
