That caption is wrong. That is not George McClellan with Lincoln and Pinkerton, it is Gen. John McClernand.
Progress
This has been an amazing process finding all this information. It has been great. Please add anything that you have, but please make sure to have references because we have put a lot of time and effort into this. (Briandavies (talk) 00:28, 29 November 2007 (UTC))
Latest Work
The article has a nice twist as it has become knowledge that she might have been known as Angie Warren and an age was given at the time of death. The story can certainly get more complicated very quickly. Hopefully there will be additional information coming soon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Briandavies (talk • contribs) 00:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Photograph
Exactly what source says that the person standing behind Pinkerton in the photo is Kate Warne? The library of Congress lists the person standing as John C. Babcock. comment added by shootseven —Preceding undated comment was added at 06:00, 5 December 2008 (UTC).
editors listed at bottom of article
It looks like the original creators of the article listed themselves on the main page. I've deleted this. Surfbruddah (talk) 13:36, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Hire date
I can'r find the claim that she was hired by Pinkerton on August 23, 1856 anywhere in the listed source, and trusted academic books give a vague range about when she was hired (which seems to suggest the exact date is not known). This should be removed from the article unless a trusted source can be provided. comment added by shootseven —Preceding undated comment added 03:22, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

Baltimore Plot
The linked article for the Baltimore Plot tells the story differently, and has Pinkerton himself apparently sending the telegram. Warne is listed as an agent and informant, but not the escort through Baltimore 68.206.12.184 (talk) 03:40, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
