Talk:Hamas

Edit request 24 February 2026

Description of suggested change: This article doesn't mention anything concerning LGBTQ rights in Palestine, which Hamas is at the center of. It's important to educate the general public about this, since there seems to be a lot of misconceptions on this topic. For instance, this article, or this article talking Hamas repression concerning LGBTQ rights, which for some reason is not at all mentioned in this page. Floyam, if you would like us to add text about Hamas repression of LGBTQ rights, please write that text with the help of your sources, so we can see if we can add it. Friendly, Lova Falk (talk) 17:55, 27 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request 20 April 2026

The section related to the hostage-taking on October 7th, 2023 needs to be expanded. The taking of the hostages is described but the article does not mention the fact that some hostages were held for two years after their initial kidnap. There is also no mention of the fact that a harsh Israeli response was certain to occur after October 7th but Hamas seemed indifferent to the suffering of the civilian population of Gaza after what they (Hamas) had done.

Description of suggested change: Expansion of comments on October 7th hostage-taking.

Partly done Hi Fiskendo, I do understand what you mean, and I have added the 251 abducted people to the text. Thank you for telling us! However, about Hamas seeming indifferent to the suffering of the civilian population of Gaza after what they (Hamas) had done, you'll need to find a good source that confirms this, otherwise we cannot add it to the article. grammar edit

Hello everyone,

Under the topic "violence", it says:

In 2003, according to Stephen Atkins, Hamas resumed suicide bombings in Israel as a retaliatory measure after the failure of peace talks and an Israeli campaign targeting members of the upper echelon of the Hamas leadership.[i] but they are considered as crimes against humanity under international law.

Im not an english native speaker, but the bold marked part sounds weird, doesnt it?

I would change it to "These acts are considered..."

Kind regards,

Can you copy/paste the text you read that caused you to write 'you forgot to write...'. Was it an AI summary or something else? I ask because the article does include information about terrorist organization designations. Sean.hoyland (talk) 10:02, 25 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I also don't know why Hamas isn't referred to as a terrorist organization in the first line. There should at least be an FAQ about this above. Candidyeoman55 (talk) 19:15, 27 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
