window.name DOM property

Window is not a DOM property, window is a host object responsible for reflecting the DOM into programming languages. It has its own standard at https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/nav-history-apis.html#the-window-object 31.182.204.120 (talk) 18:58, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Does HyTrack belong here?

Seems related to cookies. https://www.usenix.org/conference/usenixsecurity25/presentation/wessels But goes much deeper than http cookies did. By using cloud persistent syncable storage. ~2025-40943-61 (talk) 22:34, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kvng,

On the HTTP cookie article, you reverted an edit I did about an image stating how they share their name with the treat and you reason said "image was helpful and fun". Wikipedia is not for fun, it is not an entertainment system. The image is trivial and probably might as well be useless. Remember, Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia and encyclopedias generally do not contain trivial information.

Thanks for understanding, SuperWikiaBros (talk) 02:18, 28 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

HTTP cookies share their name with a popular baked treat.
I may be mistaken but I don't find these statements to be supported by policy (e.g., WP:NOT). I think the article would be more engaging with the image restored. ~Kvng (talk) 13:40, 29 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
MOS:IMAGEREL: Images must be significant and relevant in the topic's context, not primarily decorative. Each image in an article should have a clear and unique illustrative purpose and serve as an important illustrative aid to understanding the subject. A photo of a stack of chocolate chip cookies, in my opinion, doesn't serve as an important illustrative aid to understanding HTTP cookies, despite their being a cute decoration to accompany the metaphor behind the term "cookies". HTTP cookies aren't soft and sweet and chocolatey and buttery and crumby and they don't lead to cravings, which are the qualities evoked by the photo. I'd call the photo's use here whimsical, which would be fine if it were to appear on a project page about HTTP cookies if we had one, but its use in this article doesn't conform to the guideline. Thank you very much. :) SuperWikiaBros (talk) 18:03, 2 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
