@FeldBum - Responding here per your guidance on Mark Hyman (doctor)’s Talk Page. I’m unfamiliar and wasn’t involved with the previous draft that was submitted. Thanks for sharing this, providing some suggestions to this draft (see further down). You’ve covered a fair amount here, do you need additional citations for anything? Request 1: Adding Company Logo - Do you need me to upload this or can you add it to the page? Let me know where to upload it.
Request 2: In the intro paragraph at the top, could these points be added?
  • Function Health offers five times more lab testing than is usually conducted during an annual physical exam with a doctor.
  • You’ve mentioned investors in the History paragraph, but could a summary line be included, suggestion: Investors include institutions Andreessen Horowitz, Wisdom.vc, Draft Ventures, K5 and G9 Ventures, and prominent figures including Matt Damon, Kevin Hart, Zac Efron, Pedro Pascal, Jay Shetty, and Blake Griffin.
Request 3: In the History paragraph, could the below points be added in?

They developed the platform with the goal of offering personalized healthcare using comprehensive lab testing and AI. [Source]

  • Add something like the following from Dr. Hyman’s current Wikipedia page: Hyman shared the founding of Function Health’s was aimed at addressing "an overburdened health system" that he claimed led to increases in chronic illness and misdiagnoses, and that Function Health "removed barriers around extensive lab testing."
  • Could this customer experience be included? (reported by Forbes): A 51-year-old woman [who] found the company through her daughter, only to discover at the end of last year she had Stage 3B ovarian cancer via the lab results. Had she waited a few months, Dr. Hyman said there was ‘severe risk’ the cancer would’ve advanced to Stage 4.
  • In 2023, Dr. Hyman stated there were over a million data points gathered from the company’s first group of 10,000 people.
  • In 2024, their first brand campaigns timed to Father’s Day, “Dear Dad” was launched. It earned Silver in the 17th annual Shorty Awards.
  • In 2025, a brand campaign for Mother’s Day, “Long Live Moms” was launched.
Request 4: In the Partnerships paragraph, could the below points be added in?
  • Good start on Equinox partnership - however worth adding that the program was developed to help members measure physical and mental performance in relation to their fitness goals.
  • Could more context around the NBPA be added in? For example, the partnership allows for significantly more lab tests than players receive in their standard medical panels through their teams.

Thanks for all of this; it's really helpful.
Just to make things easier for me, I'm going to respond in a list here instead of inline. Hope that isn't too confusing.
  1. You should upload that, and Mark Hyman's photo (you asked about that on the other Talk Page), on Wikimedia Commons, since you have the rights to those images (assuming you do have those rights)
  2. Intro/Lede
    1. That feels a little POV but I do see it supported by the cites your provided. Let me play around with language. I can get something like that on the page.
    2. Yeah, I can add something like that. I don't want to entirely duplicate what I already wrote, so I'll rewrite a bit.
  3. History
    1. Sure, since that's already on Hyman's page
    2. It's a little narrative, but I think it works. I'll work it in.
    3. Yep, that's a good datat point
    4. Hmm...I don't think that's a great source, so let me see if I can find a better one.
    5. Sure, the Mother's Day one works.
  4. Partnerships
    1. Yep, I can add more about Equinox. Your language seems neutral enough.
    2. Same with NBPA. "Significantly" is a bit POV, so I'll probably rewrite a bit.
Hope that answers everything. I'll make a few changes, but I think the draft is good to move to mainspace unless I really messed something up. Once I do so, I'll remove some stuff from Mark Hyman's page that seems like coatracking to me.

Checking out the logo now - I should be able to find it.
I can work on those other points. I'll need to check out the podcast to make sure it supports the point you raised and to make sure it isn't just an interview or a first-party source.
I'm going to hold back for now on the Shorty Awards, since the Shorty Awards themselves are the source, and not an independent third party.
I can add the Time Magazine news to the history section.

3O Request: new page sections

Can a third editor help with the Blood draw requirement and Criticism sections here? I built the page based off of an edit request on Mark Hyman's page (here). I've been going back and forth with Truthsetusfree about the Criticism and Blood draw volume requirement sections on the page. I don't have an issue with either section, but I think edits there are unwarranted, fairly POV and poorly sourced.


The blood draw section additions are all drawn from a single Reddit post, but the language is plural ("users" and "women"). Not sure how Reddit should be treated vis-a-vis the WP:SOCIALMEDIA policy, but there is definitely a range of reactions from people who have had the test, like this GMA article where the reporter had 10 vials drawn on visit one and less on visit 2, this NY Post one where the reporter gave 12 and then 8, and this airmail article where the reporter gave 20 total. I think it makes most sense to have something like "According to Function Health's FAQ, the service requires "about 35-85 mL depending on the person," which usually comes out to five to 10 vials, collected across two separate visits to Quest Diagnostics locations. Reporters and social media users have reported a larger range, which some reporting as much as 20 vials."


The criticism section feels a little coatrack to me, as well as a bit POV. For example, the line (uncited) that Hyman runs a "lucrative supplement empire" seems very POV, and--in the vein--most of the criticism is about Hyman's other business. The line "This dual role: diagnosing problems through Function Health while profiting from selling the remedies, has drawn scrutiny" feels like very much like an unsupported attribution. The next line, "Trustpilot has flagged the cross-promotion of supplements as a red flag undermining the trustworthiness of Function Health's guidance" seems dishonest, especially as the source is the main company page on Trustpilot, which does not mention that concern or flagging. Perhaps a specific reviewer has, but this claim is not in the Review Summary or easily found on that page. This line is unsourced and is clearly original research: "The concern is straightforward: when the person interpreting your blood tests also stands to gain from selling you supplements, the incentive to find 'problems' increases." The last two lines are just quotes from an article by Jonathan Jarry at McGill University's Office for Science and Society, which claim that Function Health is cross-promoting supplements (a line was added to the lede too), but in the actual Jarry article, the cross-promotion was occurring at Hyman's Ultra-Wellness Center, not at Function Health. There is legitimate criticism about Function Health on that page, but it relates to their claims, particularly about heavy metal poisoning claims, but I don't think the current section, nor the line in the lede, should stay as is. A section like "Some doctors and academics have said that Function Health's tests are unnecessary and expensive, and may introduce patient anxiety. Jonathan Jarry, a researcher at McGill's University Office for Science and Study, has also criticized some of the claims made by Function Health, such as 25% of the population having heavy metal poisining." with wikilinks, the above source and cites like NY Times and Time, makes more sense to me.


Truthsetusfreee and two other editors--2025-35542-22, Euthyphro94--have primarily or exclusively made edits to this page, with accounts being created in the last few months. I don't want to get into an edit war with them, so would love some assistance from other editors. I'll bump this up to dispute resolution or RfC.

Hi, FeldBum. I've pulled the RFC tag because I don't think you'll get any responses with such a general question.
As a first step, I suggest that you go to Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library, log in, and search for "Function Health" "Hyman" in the main search box at the top of the page. Skip sources like PR Newswire (which is all press releases), but you should be able to find a couple dozen potentially useful sources. See if you can find anything from a good source that covers the same material. Then, when you've got a specific question, think about whether it's a common enough question that we have a noticeboard for it (e.g., go to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard, ask "Can we use this Reddit post to say that people have had 20 tubes of blood drawn?", and wait for them to say "No") or if it's more of a custom situation, and you need an RFC (e.g., "Would comparing this company to Theranos, using this source, be non-neutral given the differences between the two models and the fact that this one does not appear to be a criminal fraud?" – or whatever question is left.) If it would be helpful to have background information, then you could ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. For example, if someone thinks that 20 tubes of blood is a lot, then it might be useful for them to know that even if all 20 tubes are the largest size, it's still much less blood than an ordinary blood donation.
