Talk:Features new to Windows 8

Keyboard shortcuts and other version of Windows

I added a link to Windows_key shortcuts for other versions of Windows because Windows 8 supports most of them and it is a useful reference for Windows users. My addition read,

Windows 8 also supports Windows Key shortcuts from earlier versions."

Unfortunately Codename Lisa reverted the change with the comment,

No, it doesn't. For example, Win+P and Ctrl+Alt+Space don't work as they did before.

First, the original edit did not claim that all shortcuts are supported. Second, the cited Ctrl+Alt+Space combination is not a "Windows key" shortcut and is irrelevant. I edited the addition changing it to read "supports many ..." to address the comment from Codename Lisa. Unfortunately Codename Lisa reverted the change with the comment,

Please stick to Wikipedia:Editing policy § Talking and editing and use talk page for communication, not edit summaries. Also "many" is a weasel word.

Codename Lisa: Please clarify/elaborate any reasons you may have for the last revert. Whether or not you like the word "many" is not reason to revert the whole change. Be constructive in editing. The statement is provably true and relevant. If you don't like "many" then rephrase to your liking-- cite a percentage, change it to "most", etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User5910 (talkcontribs) 15:14, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, User5910
First, even if what you say is true, it is not a new feature. It an old feature. What is it doing in Features new to Windows 8 article?
Second, allow me to remind you of our policies: Contributions without sources may be challenged and deleted. I personally do not think one tenth of Windows 7 shortcuts made their way to Windows 8. If you think otherwise, you should know that the burden of proof is on the person who makes the contribution, i.e. you. So, would you please cite a source? (In the appropriate article of course; like I said, this article should host this statement, regardless of its truth.)
Best regards,
