NPOV issues
The article is in dire need of opposing views, namely that dreams cannot be meaningfully interpreted. As it stands, only views that support dream interpretation are mentioned.--Megaman en m (talk) 14:09, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
Pseudoscience?
Is it appropriate to include this article in the pseudoscience category? Yodabyte (talk) 12:35, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Nothing in the article even seems to suggest that it's pseudoscience, so until that happens you shouldn't add that category.--Megaman en m (talk) 13:21, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Psycholgocal perspective
I noticed there was a lot of cultural and religious interpretations of dreams mentioned in this article but the psychological aspect wasn't covered as much as I thought it would be. Is Freud's theory of dreams the only one popular in psychology or do other psychologists have theories on dream as well? Proposed merge of Oneiromancy into Dream interpretation
- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To not merge, as the topics are distinct. Klbrain (talk) 12:45, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
Nothing in the Oneiromancy article about oneiromancy, if oneiromancy is understood as a form of divination, and divination is understood as a "standardized process or ritual". There are no processes or rituals in the article. Instead the Oneiromancy article is overwhelmingly about dream interpretation, with brief mentions of Oneirogens. Daask (talk) 20:54, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose: Our divination page is wrong. See Talk:Divination#First paragraph is uncited and most likely incorrect. Dream interpretation is (as one would expect) about interpreting dreams. Oneiromancy is about predicting the future or receiving messages from the gods through the interpetation of dreams. Related, but different topics. --Guy Macon Alternate Account (talk) 03:46, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose unsurprisingly, the Oneiromancy and divination page have issues. However, while dream interpretation is part of the process for Oneiromancy the two topics are distinct. This merge suggestion is functionally the same as suggesting the smartphone article should be merged with the cpu article because one involves the other. - Darker Dreams (talk) 04:59, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
