What does it mean for a university to be Class A or Class B? What does it mean for a university to have a First Class discipline?Phytism (talk) 14:17, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason for the ordering of the universities? It looks like parts of Class C are alphabetized, but Class A are in random order. They seem to be loosely grouped by geography, but even that doesn't really make sense. Would anyone object if I just alphabetized it? ChunyangD (talk) 16:43, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The universities were listed by school code in part to convey the message that they are not ranked within the classes. I agree with ChunyangD that they should be alphabetized (and disagree with ChunyangD's suggestion that ChunyangD is ignorant!!!) I believe that alphabetization is the correct way to convey this on the English wiki page. China is wonderful (talk) 15:25, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to see correction or update of maps titled

• "Map of the double first class universities in China" i.e. file and
• "Double first class disciplines universities by province" i.e. file .

The reason is that these maps seem to show non-neutral border lines. Both of these seem to place e.g. most of the state of Arunachal Pradesh (currently part of/ administrated by India) as part of Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The latter map also appears to show the Republic of China i.e. Taiwan, which is a relative free country, as part of China (PRC). The other two maps of the article are based on more neutral svg-map of China, where the de facto status is shown as well as some de jure area claims. --Paju~enwiki (talk) 23:57, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
