How to manage a community, a different meaning of the term
I was surprised at this article, because it only speaks of "management by a community", and not "management of a community". The latter is a job description, corresponding to stimulating and organising a community, by different means including forums, gaming, events etc. Typically community managers are in demand in the scope of collaboration projects, large institutions (e.g. intranet social networks), and open source developments, where they help boost participation not only in the community but also in any task the community has undertaken. Any reactions to this? (I can add the lines I've just written and wait for corrections... I'd have to find some sources!) Edit: I just found the page describing what I'm talking about, Online community manager Jrob kiwi (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:32, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- Equally surprised. Then there is the also shocking Community manager article, and next to that the more than suspicious Online community manager and Community Manager Appreciation Day...--QuimGil (talk) 04:18, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- edited. Fell free to edit my addition. Jrob kiwi (talk) 09:57, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
