Talk:Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!

Validity of the tag easycore

User:Chrisbkoolio has raised a valid argument for the removal of the genre easycore from the info box saying "Easycore doesn't exist. This page needs to stay encyclopedic." But what is the concept of a existing genre. Just because It doesn't have a wikipedia page doesn't mean it's a style that isn't explored by artists. The genre comes up a few times in the research I've done for both this page and the Me vs Hero page I currently writing. Not to mention an Allmusic source that supports "popmosh" and "popcore" on the A Day To Remember musical style section. Jonjonjohny (talk) 22:17, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is worth mentioning in the article, but the infobox is reserved for genres notable enough to have an established Wikipedia article so that readers can find relevant information about the musical genre. Easycore is not an established genre, but is merely a trend among pop punk artists. So it doesn't belong in the infobox. ChrisBkoolio ... (Talk) 19:17, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Correct article title?

I've noticed that the title of the article does not feature the exclamation mark at the end of the band's name, which I believe is the correct formatting and it is the format which has been used throughout the article. I would suggest moving this page to Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! as explained at Wikipedia:Moving a page and creating a re-direct from this page to the new one; how does that sound? ScoobyHugh (talk) 12:25, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't do it when I created the page because Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! has been locked and thus a lot of hassle to be made unlocked. I didn't even know where to start trying to get it unblocked. Jonjonjohny (talk) 21:05, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Existence of EP

Does the Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! (EP) actually exist? The two references on its article are highly unreliable:

  • Spirit of Metal - Is essentially a fan based encyclopaedia and anyone can edit it in any way they want, many unofficial albums and songs are listed.
  • Sputnik music - A reliable source however the only ratings there consist off users, not official staff members, and the album is in fact titled "Cum On" on there.

For these reasons I believe it should be removed, it's article deleted and any mentioning off the album to also be removed from this article. If anyone can provide a reliable reference to back up this EP then please do so. SilentDan297 talk 23:05, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just to point out to any editors who have comments, there is currently a discussion of whether or not the EP's article should be deleted here Jonjonjohny (talk) 19:34, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Easycore in infobox

I find no reason why Easycore shouldn't be included in the info box. Dekai Averett (talk) 20:15, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
