Talk:Camp Monteith

"A former Serb artillery outpost and 79 parcels of private land, the area was taken over by U.S. Marines and used as a base of operation during the Kosovo War of 1999." I really dont know where someone found information about this but US never took that outpost DURING war. One could read this and think that Marines entered Yugoslav teritory during war and gained foothold in some sort of battle which would be eons from the truth. NATO used KLA as infantry with poor results. And during war US didnt have "base of operations" inside Yugoslav teritory, especially after Staff Sgt. Andrew Ramirez, 24, of Los Angeles; Staff Sgt. Christopher Stone, 25, of Smiths Creek, Michigan; and Spec. Steven Gonzales, 21, of Huntsville, Texas were captured scouting near Yugoslav-FYR Macedonian border.93.92.248.11 (talk) 13:52, 28 July 2009 (UTC)colossus[reply]
